BTH: Journalist Roundtable on Debates, Parks, and More

Three Memphis journalists join us this week for WKNO-TV's Behind the Headlines with host Eric Barnes. Karanja Ajanaku of the New Tri-State Defender, Madeline Faber of High Ground News and Bill Dries of the Daily Memphian discuss upcoming elections, new park openings and more.

In politics, Ajanaku says he attended the recent Trump rally in Southaven to talk with African American attendees. He says he genuinely wanted to know why they support the President's policies.

The reopening of the Big River levee trail is among some of the improvements to local recreational amenities. Faber hopes for more expansion of the Greenway and expects new development with the Heights Greenline. She discusses how it could impact the Heights neighborhood.

On a final note, guests reflect on the Sept. 27 murder of Phil Trenary, the CEO and president of the Greater Memphis Chamber and a former CEO of Pinnacle Airlines.
