If you don’t have plans on Saturday night, you do now.
Le Bon Appetit is this Saturday night, June 9, at Crosstown Concourse.
I stopped by Restaurant Iris the other day to talk to chef Kelly English to learn more about this divine culinary event that brings over 45 of the nation’s most celebrated chefs from across the country here to Memphis.
“Le Bon Appetit is this wonderful event that benefits Le Bonheur Hospital. Le Bonheur Hospital literally secures our future as a region. They take care of the kids and make them healthy … and secure what I think is a bright, bright future for our city. We bring in chefs from all across the country and we have chefs locally that support everything we do. It’s an amazing event.”
If you love all things culinary, you are going to love this event.
“I think people really like this format because they get to try things that they normally wouldn’t get to try. They get to meet the people that are cooking the food and hear about why they like to cook it. And it’s the easiest way to support a place like Le Bonheur.”
Come hungry! You are going to have the chance to enjoy dishes that you won’t find anywhere else.
“One of the great things about having two restaurants is we get to represent them very differently. So at Iris we are going to have fresh baked brioche with a pickled okra gribiche stuffed with pimento cheese. And other at Second Line, we are going to do a version of our IBYA shrimp but we are going to use cauliflower instead.”
This is Jennifer Chandler with The Weekly Dish. Bon Appetit!
