Lineup Announced for 18th Annual Indie Memphis Film Festival

Executive Director Ryan Watt reveals this year's lineup for The Indie Memphis Film Festival, and local filmmaker Sara Kaye Larson talks about the True Story Pictures' documentary, The Keepers.

The 18th Indie Memphis Film Festival is scheduled to run November 3 through 10, with films screening weeknights at the new Halloran Centre for Performing Arts and Education downtown, and weekends at Malco's Studio on the Square and The Circuit Playhouse in Midtown.  Presented by Duncan-Williams, Inc., this year's festival boasts a lineup of over 120 narrative features, documentaries, and short films. The festival includes appearances by a number of producers, directors and designers, workshops and panel discussions for filmmakers, and the largest number of Memphis-made entries to date.

Executive Director Ryan Watt talks about this year's roster, and is joined by Sara Kaye Larson, who, with partner Joann Self Selvidge, produced and directed the documentary The Keepers, which will screen at the Opening Night Gala.

I owe my radio career to the Ford Motor Company. My daddy had a Ford dealership in our hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and he thought it would be cute if his 7-year old daughter did his radio commercials. The pay wasn't great, just a pack of Wrigley's gum, but I was hooked on radio from then on.
