The Tennessee House has approved a measure that would let consumers buy a bottle of wine or liquor on Sundays.

Lawmakers voted 55-35 Monday night to lift restrictions that bar grocery stores in Tennessee from selling wine on Sundays and liquor stores from being open. Under the House proposal, sales would still be restricted on Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving.

The measure still needs to be approved by the Senate and the governor. If they do, liquor stores could begin opening on Sundays immediately, but grocery stores would have to wait until January 2019.
