A Tuna Christmas at the Circuit Playhouse

Playhouse on the Square

A Tuna Christmas is both an affectionate commentary and withering satire of small town, Southern life and attitudes, with 20+ characters played by just two actors.

Kacky Walton talks to actors Michael Gravois and John Hemphill about the colorful residents of Tuna, Texas’ third-smallest town.

Everyone's competing in the annual Christmas lawn display contest when a mysterious Christmas Phantom wreaks havoc on the elaborate decorations. Meanwhile, Tuna’s embattled theater director tries to get a troubled production of A Christmas Carol on its feet.

Two actors play more than 20 characters, and multiple costume quick-changes help to put the riotous fun in holiday dysfunction in this audience-favorite.

I owe my radio career to the Ford Motor Company. My daddy had a Ford dealership in our hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and he thought it would be cute if his 7-year old daughter did his radio commercials. The pay wasn't great, just a pack of Wrigley's gum, but I was hooked on radio from then on.
