Partners In Excellence
WKNO-FM has a
strong base of supporters, but there is an important group of donors whose
gifts each year provide a bit of extra momentum as we approach the
opportunities and challenges of keeping up the standard of quality expected
from us.
WKNO's Partners In Excellence are major investors in The WKNO-FM Stations. More important, they are
our counselors and ambassadors. They enable WKNO-FM to expand its
vision of excellence, to develop new programs, and to employ
cutting-edge telecommunications
technologies to find innovative ways of better serving the community.
WKNO's Partners In Excellence Fund offers unique
opportunities to donors of $500 and above. As a way of expressing our
appreciation, partners receive the following annual recognition:
- Private tours of the WKNO studios and the possibility of seeing a program live
- Invitations to special events at WKNO
- Personal contact with WKNO-FM's Office of Development

Planned Giving
Through effective gift planning, you can balance personal financial
goals with your interest in supporting WKNO, and realize significant tax
benefits. We encourage you to contact us at (901) 325-6532.
We will be glad to answer questions, review your unique circumstances,
and let you know about the full range of giving opportunities available
at WKNO.
Bequests
Many people don't consider estate planning because they feel they don't have a large enough estate to protect. Bequests of all sizes are valuable to WKNO. Whether
you wish to donate a portion of your estate, a
fixed dollar amount, or a percentage of your assets, bequests are easy
to make. If you already have an existing will, your attorney can help
you add a new gift or change a provision by making a simple amendment
(a codicil). We are happy to assist you and your advisor through the
estate planning process by providing language and documents to ensure
your giving objectives are met.
If you would like to leave an unrestricted bequest to WKNO in your
will,
you may use the following wording: .I hereby give, devise, and bequeath
(insert dollar amount, percentage of estate, or residuary) to
WKNO, a non-profit corporation organized under the laws
of the State of Tennessee, currently located at 900 Getwell, in
the State of Tennessee, for its general purposes.. Please notify us
if you include WKNO in your will as we would like to acknowledge your
generosity and express our gratitude for your support of WKNO.
Gifts of Stock
Please contact us to discuss the various means to donate stock to WKNO. Please note that
your name will not accompany an electronic transfer of shares, so it is
very important that you notify us of your intent. We would enjoy the
opportunity to thank you and would like to make sure your intentions
are carried out properly.
General Advice and Information
Please
consult with an attorney or financial advisor regarding your planned
giving decisions. They will be able to provide tax and legal advice
specific to your needs.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers
are what make WKNO's value to the community unlimited! We understand that
everyone has something unique to contribute, and we offer a variety of
ways you can assist. Experience is not necessary to volunteer just
enthusiasm and commitment.
Volunteering
at WKNO gives you the opportunity to meet on-air personalities, behind
the scenes staffers and other WKNO supporters like yourself. You'll get
to see our facilities including the on-air studio here at the WKNO-FM
Stations. Volunteers come from all age groups. Many are high school and
college students completing community service requirements for
graduation, others are retired or active professionals. All are
WKNO listeners.
If you would like to join the volunteer community, please email Sally Stover or call (901) 325-6584.
