Silent Sky | University of Memphis

The theatre season continues at the University of Memphis with Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson February 7-10, a true look at the unsung women at the Harvard Observatory at the beginning of the 20th century.

Darel Snodgrass talks with director Jo Lenhart about Henrietta Leavitt, who with her team of women "computers" discovered fundamental truths about the nature of the universe, despite the prejudice against women scientists and mathematicians of the time.

I began piano lessons at age 6, trumpet at age 9, and began teaching myself the guitar at 10. My electronics knowledge comes from my father, who had the RCA television and stereo shop in my hometown of Pocahontas, Arkansas for nearly 20 years. My dad is still fixing televisions at age 79.
