Choose Your Battles

You don't have to fight every battle.

You don't have to be right in every encounter that pushes an emotional button in you. Sometimes you can walk away and be better off for that choice. The battles worth fighting are the ones that bring you joy and love and drive you closer to God. Ultimately, these are the only things that do matter. Bridges burn quickly. Before you take on an endeavor that potentially could harm an important relationship in your life, ask yourself, is it worth it to use up what I have in the bank with this person on this issue? When you stop to think, it's amazing how many things won't matter in two hours or two weeks. Save your emotional energy for things that do matter because they deepen your experience of joy and love.
