BTH: Journalist Roundtable on Pipeline, Vaccinations, MORE

This week on Channel 10’s Behind the Headlines,  Eric Barnes hosts a journalist roundtable with The Memphis Flyer's Toby Sells and Daily Memphian reporters Bill Dries and Daja Henry.

Over the past several months, the Memphis City Council has examined measures to tighten control around the construction of local pipelines.

Dries says the ordinances were written after community members and organizations, like Protect our Aquifer and MCAT, fought against the Byhalia pipeline - citing the potential for catastrophic contamination dangers to the local Aquifer.

Dries says there will now be a stricter process around the construction of pipelines, as well as the possibility for more ordinances.

In addition to the discussion of local pipelines, guests talk about education, a push for bail reform, COVID-19 vaccinations, and more.
