The Memphis Public Library presents the fifth annual Bookstock, Saturday April 18 at the Benjamin L. Hooks  Central Library from 10:30 to 3:30.

The purpose of Bookstock 2015 is to promote literacy throughout the City of Memphis and to encourage / support local writers. This festival and book signing is a great way for local authors to meet and greet readers while promoting and selling their books. Several special guests and a keynote speaker are also slated to attend. Library customers – young and young at heart – will enjoy a day full of entertainment at the Library! This event is free and open to the public.

In this interview, Event Coordinator Wang-Ying Glasgow and Memphis Parent editor Jane Schneider discuss the event, the activities and the special guests.

I began piano lessons at age 6, trumpet at age 9, and began teaching myself the guitar at 10. My electronics knowledge comes from my father, who had the RCA television and stereo shop in my hometown of Pocahontas, Arkansas for nearly 20 years. My dad is still fixing televisions at age 79.
