As the the impeachment inquiry in Washington D.C. heats up, politicians are making their cases to the voters back home.
Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee's 7th Congressional district wrote in a recent opinion column that impeachment is interfering with his ability to pass legislation. "While we focus on impeachment, we are failing to address the real issues facing the American people," he wrote.
Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen, the Democrat from District 9, fired back that Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has been delaying House-passed legislation for months. He added that "oversight of the Executive is one of Congress's most fundamental duties."
Political analyst Otis Sanford says politicians are actively making their cases with voters whose side they are on.
