Women's Eye Health

As matriarchs of their families, most women understand the importance of visiting their doctors regularly. However, for some women, an eye exam is often missed in their list of annual health visits.

Resulting from greater longevity, women are more prone to developing age related conditions that can affect vision.

In addition to the greater prevalence of dry eye disease, a 2010 report by Prevent Blindness America revealed that women are more likely to develop macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.

Of the 4.1 million Americans age 40 and over reporting vision impairment, a staggering 63.4% are women. Preventative and early intervention measures are key to avoiding avertable vision loss.

Encourage your matriarch to schedule her annual dilated eye exam today.
