Kacky Walton speaks with Brittain Wells about the first concert of the River Series spring season. The series highlights local musicians who perform at the little-known concert venue, The Maria Montessori School amphitheatre.

The concert series is a fundraiser for Maria Montessori School, and kicks off Saturday, April 27. The amphitheatre is a hidden gem with gorgeous views of the downtown Memphis skyline and the Mississippi River.

I owe my radio career to the Ford Motor Company. My daddy had a Ford dealership in our hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and he thought it would be cute if his 7-year old daughter did his radio commercials. The pay wasn't great, just a pack of Wrigley's gum, but I was hooked on radio from then on.
