The 50th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich’s death was honored with an original staging of his most infamous opera, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk. The 2025 recording from La Scala features Alexander Roslavets and Sara Jakubik. Riccardo Chailly conducts the La Scala Orchestra & Chorus.
June 27 | George Frideric Handel's Ariodante
A political drama tinged with romance and laments, Handel’s Ariodante holds its own as a Baroque opera gem. Ariodante was performed in 2025 by the Pygmalion Ensemble and the Paris Opera Chorus, featuring Cecilia Molinari in the titular role.
