RENEE MONTAGNE, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne with news of the latest athlete to be caught using a unique performance enhancer - a public bus. Rob Sloan had finished third in a marathon outside Newcastle, England, with an impressive two hours and 51 minutes. Perhaps after winning a race the day before, he was feeling tired by the 20th mile of the marathon. That's where spectators saw him running through bushes and jumping on a bus. Sloan finally confessed to cheating. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
