A campaign to clean up litter is high on Mayor Jim Strickland's to-do list for his second term. This week on WKNO-TV's Behind the Headlines, Strickland joins host Eric Barnes and Daily Memphian reporter Bill Dries to discuss that and other priorities.

In addition, Strickland says he will continue efforts to increase the number of Memphis police officers. Strickland believes that the new sales tax referendum and expansion of the residency requirement will help recruit and retain more police and fire officials.

Wrapping up, Strickland talks about Memphis’ search for alternative power outside of MLGW.
