BTH: Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris on COVID-19, Budget, More

While Shelby County is stalled in Phase 2 of economic reopening, Mayor Lee Harris says officials are taking their cues from health experts who are carefully monitoring hospital capacity, testing capacity, and more. Harris adds that the county is doing well with with both testing and hospital beds. However, changes must be made to effectively combat the virus in the long run.  

Harris joins this week’s WKNO-TV Behind the Headlines with host Eric Barnes and Daily Memphian reporter Bill Dries. In addition to COVID-19, Harris talks about the 2020-21 fiscal year that is approaching for Shelby County. Wrapping up, guests discuss the recent Black Lives Matter protests and police brutality.
