More than 250,000 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in the City of Memphis (equalling about 400,000 doses), says Doug McGowen the city’s chief operating officer. But the the numbers still are not where they need to be at this point.

In addition to pop up pods in various communities, walk up vaccinations, starting after 5 p.m. daily at the Pipkin building, are a new addition to expediting shots in arms.

McGowen and Memphis’ Fire Director Gina Sweat join host Eric Barnes and Daily Memphian reporter Bill Dries for this week’s WKNO-TV Behind the Headlines

Sweat discusses how the Memphis Fire Department has altered the management and administration process of the COVID-19 vaccine.
