Phillip Ashley Chocolates

Valentine’s day is this weekend … and speaking from experience, a gift of chocolates is sure to be adored!

But not just any chocolates. The selection needs to be special.

Luckily for us Memphians … we have the talented and creative Phillip Ashley Rix of Phillip Ashley Chocolates to create that “just perfect” Valentine’s gift.

“Chocolate is a popular Valentine’s gift because people always associate it with love,” explains Phillip. “Chocolate makes you feel good. It tastes great and then people just always look to it as a great gift. A lot of times it comes in heart boxes … so heart equals love.”

A plain piece of chocolate is good … but a chocolate filled with a flavorful ganache or caramel … and decorated like a work of art … is guaranteed to make a girl swoon.

“We have a very interesting collection called The Sweetheart Collection for Valentine’s. They actually look like those little sweet tarts that you used to get with I Love You and Be Mine. So we just reimagined that in chocolate. We have things like Caramel Macchiato, a Black Currant Caramel, and flavors like that. We reimagined the Cherry Cordial with sour cherries and brandy. “

Phillip is like a modern day Willy Wonka.

“We are putting things in chocolate that no one else is: blue cheese, barbeque, beer hops, and coffee grinds. We are a full spectrum in researching ingredients. So we really push the envelope. That’s what makes our chocolates unique.”

So this February 14, give an unforgettable chocolate treat from a talented chocolatier like Phillip. It’s guaranteed to win your Valentine’s heart.
