--After overcoming a hurdle for Medicaid, the Arkansas Legislature chugs along in its fiscal session. We have a look at various proposals from the week.

--The state announces a Chinese paper company plans to locate a plant in Arkadelphia. We’ll have some details on the new plant and some critical context on how other Chinese companies have adapted to the South.

--New plans are drawn up on expanding Interstate 30 through Little Rock.

- Little Rock School District stakeholders continue to simmer over state Education Commissioner Johnny Key’s decision to replace superintendent Baker Kurrus. We hear from incoming superintendent Michael Poore.

Chris Hickey was born and raised in Houston, Texas, spending his teenage years in Camden, Ohio. He graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, majoring in English. He got his start in public radio working as a board operator at WMUB in Oxford, Ohio during his summer and winter breaks from school. Since graduating, he has made Little Rock home. He joined KUAR in September 2011 as a production intern and has since enjoyed producing, anchoring and reporting for the station.
