As I got older I paid less attention to the balloons, until two years ago I was given a chance to have a front row seat for the parade. As my wife can tell you, I was extremely excited to see Bullwinkle in person. Only to learn, that after an accident, they quit flying the Bullwinkle balloon in 1983. All these past years I remained excited about something that no longer existed. Oh, my. Well, at first I was a little embarrassed. I turned the demise of Bullwinkle into a life lesson. We should remain excited about those things that are right in front of us, in the here and the now, and not hold on to our memories from the past in the hope that they will bring us new joy. So tomorrow I will be watching the parade and enjoy it as it unfolds, and not just waiting for Bullwinkle. I hope you will be watching too. This is Dr. Scott Morris for Church Health.
