You are Enough

People often believe that it is the lure of success, the attraction of popularity or the magnet of power that creates a trap that can destroy the goodness of our lives.

But for many people, it isn't their vices, but instead, the pit of self-rejection that destroys what is good in life. It is so hard for some people to look in the mirror and be happy with what they see. Too often people fail because they're trying to match their insides with other people's outsides and can't see how we are all struggling in one way or another just to get by. The fear of not being enough and other people's perception is demoralizing. But I am certain that each of us, just as we are, is enough. Enough in this moment, enough in God's eyes and enough to be the person we were created to be. I'm not saying it's easy to embrace who you are, but to do so is the only way you can be fully alive. This is Dr. Scott Morris for Church Health.

Dr. G. Scott Morris, M.D., M.Div, is founder and CEO of Church Health, which opened in 1987 to provide quality, affordable health care for working, uninsured or underserved people and their families. In FY2021, Church Health had over 61,300 patient visits. Dr. Morris has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University, and M.D. from Emory University. He is a board-certified family practice physician and an ordained United Methodist minister.
