Christians believed Jesus died a cruel death for the sake of each and every one of us. . .

...for everyone that we can't seem to stand, for the person you just cursed under your breath, for the driver who just turned in front of you, for the boss you wish you didn't have. Christ died for that slob, that crook, that saint, that fool, for you, and me. Why is it that we can't seem to get that in our heads? We are meant to have communion with each other, to meet each other at the most basic of our humanness, to recognize that we need each other. Do we really prefer to just go it alone? I don't think so. The one thing I think we can all agree on, at least in theory, is that come Easter morning, love rules the day. You don't have to be a believing Christian to embrace that wholeheartedly. You just need to want to be fully alive. Happy Easter. This is Dr. Scott Morris for Church Health.

Dr. G. Scott Morris, M.D., M.Div, is founder and CEO of Church Health, which opened in 1987 to provide quality, affordable health care for working, uninsured or underserved people and their families. In FY2021, Church Health had over 61,300 patient visits. Dr. Morris has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University, and M.D. from Emory University. He is a board-certified family practice physician and an ordained United Methodist minister.
