But beneath the burst of color, a quiet question rises, what does freedom mean in America today? Is it just the right to speak or the grace to hear, the space to choose your path or the duty to clear a path for someone else? Real freedom does not shout. It listens. It feeds the hungry, heals the sick, welcomes the stranger. Real freedom isn't just about what I can do for myself. It's about what we can do for one another.
Freedom grows where justice lives, where truth is honored and where love reaches beyond difference. America's freedom has always been a work in progress. Freedom isn't a finished thing. It's not a trophy to be won, but a promise to be kept, a song we are still learning to sing together. This 4th of July may we not only wave the flag, but walk the walk and may we remember that in the truest sense freedom isn't just what sets us apart it's what binds us together. I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July. This is Dr. Scott Morris for Church Health.
