For those of us who lived through that day, the images are seared into memory. The plains, the towers, the grief. For a younger generation, it is now history. Something they know only through stories and classroom lessons. Here in Memphis, far from New York or Washington, that day reminds us how deeply we belong to one another. How fragile life is, but how strong love can be. In those days after the attacks, we saw strangers help strangers, neighbors became family. A nation paused to hold one another's grief. Nearly a quarter-century later, we faced divisions and fears, but the memory of 9/11 calls us back to compassion, courage, and community. If we only remember the violence, then the day has no meaning. But if we remember the unity and the care we showed, then even from ashes can rise a vision of hope. That is how we make September 11th be a call to live differently together with the love that endures. This is Dr. Scott Morris for Church Health.
