Fire and Light

Tonight, as the sun slips below the horizon, something extraordinary will happen.

A rocket will rise, carrying Artemis II toward the moon with four human beings on board. Also tonight, people of faith will look upward in a different way. Passover begins, a story of liberation, a moving from darkness into freedom. For Christians, this is Holy Week, a journey through sacrifice toward resurrection and new life.

It's striking, isn't it? That on a night like this, ancient stories of hope and deliverance meet the bright flame of a modern launch, because it's easy these days to feel weighed down by what's broken around us, but then comes fire and light, pushing against gravity, and we remember something deeper about who we are. We are a people who tell stories of freedom, who walk through hard seasons, believing in redemption, who look up beyond the limits of the present and dare to imagine something more.

So tonight, step outside if you can, look up and remember whether in faith or in flight, we are still reaching for the light.
