Every Gift is a Blessing

I once had a patient who lived off just $300 a month in Social Security.

Every day she put a nickel aside as a gift to Church Health. When she came for her appointments, she would hand me a bag of nickels with a smile. She knew it wasn't much, but it showed she knew there was a real cost for her care. I've never forgotten those moments. It reminds me that generosity isn't measured by the amount we give, it's measured by the love and gratitude behind the gift. For the nickel lady, her gift represented sacrifice, faith and a belief that even a small gift can make a difference in someone else's life.

Financial generosity is one of the ways we put our values into action. Every gift large or small says, "I believe this work matters and I want to be a part of it." If WK&O has enriched your life, I hope you'll support it with a financial gift today. And remember that next Tuesday is Church Health Giving Day. Every dollar you give to Church Health will be matched, doubling your generosity and helping provide needed healthcare for the uninsured and those who work to make our lives comfortable. This is Dr. Scott Morris for Church Health.

Dr. G. Scott Morris, M.D., M.Div, founded Church Health, which opened in 1987 to provide quality, affordable health care for working, uninsured, or underserved people and their families.
