After eight years, the Overton Park Conservatory (OPC) and the Memphis Zoo have approved a plan to end parking on the Greensward. In the agreement, the Memphis Zoo will create 300 parking spaces, a new North Parkway entrance, and a turn over 17 acres of the Old Forest to OPC.
In addition to talking about the Zoo and OPC's agreement, guests discuss Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Dr. Joris M. Ray's State of the District speech. Daja E. Henry says that Dr. Ray wants the school board to explore the possibility of year-round schools, raising the salaries for teachers and principals, plus more.
Guests also talk about local politics, and Ford's Blue Oval City at the regional megasite.
