The Memphis Garden Club holds their biannual flower show this weekend at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens. This is one of only nine major shows sanctioned by the Garden Clubs of America, featuring arrangements inspired by works of art in the exhibition Modern Dialect: American Scene Paintings from the Susan and John Horseman Collection, comprised of 50 American Scene and modernist paintings from the 1930s and 1940s. Additionally, the Show includes current conservation applications, photography and local blue-ribbon horticulture selections. Darel Snodgrass spoke with co-chairs Camille Mueller and Lane Park.
This year’s event is free and open to the public on Saturday, April 28 (9:00 - 6:00) and Sunday, April 29 (11:00 - 5:00). For information go to www.memphisgardenclub.org, or www.dixon.org.
