Nashville, TN – Late Friday night, the Tennessee legislature handed Governor Phil Bredesen what he said he needed to make the state competitive for hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government's Race to the Top education fund. The General Assembly changed how public school teachers will be evaluated for their pay, allowing a good portion of that to be based on student achievement. But lawmakers didn't end their special session. They come back today to take up the Governor's higher education plans. Anita Bugg from WPLN in Nashville talks with political correspondent Joe White.
