Memphis, TN – Interim Mayor Joe Ford will face Sheriff Mark Luttrell in the August 5th election for Shelby County Mayor. Ford beat out County Commissioner Deirdre Malone in the Democratic primary for the county mayorship. He received 57 percent of the vote.
Ford's son, Justin Ford, won his dad's former seat on the County Commission. The younger Ford beat out Edith Moore in the Democratic primary. There will not be a Republican on the ballot.
Republican Bill Oldham will face off against Democrat Randy Wade for Shelby County Sheriff. Both Oldham and Wade beat out three other candidates to win their primary races. Oldham received 48 percent of the votes in the Republican primary. Wade received 66 percent of the votes in the Democratic primary.
