Memphis, TN – One of the two court cases launched by losing candidates of the August 5th election against the Shelby County Election Commission has been dismissed.
The case was thrown out because it was filed before the election was certified. The one remaining lawsuit was filed at the right time, but will face a motion to dismiss on different grounds Friday.
If that lawsuit survives the Friday dismissal hearing, the trial will begin Monday.
There are two ongoing official investigations into the August 5th election--one by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation which is only looking at Election Day August 5th (and not early voting), and one by the Tennessee Secretary of State's Office. Congressman Steve Cohen has asked the Department of Justice to investigate, too--so far with no response.
