Memphis, TN – The Memphis City School Board is talking about surrendering its charter. That's because the Shelby County School Board is trying to get "special district status" from Nashville. Bill Dries of the Memphis Daily News has been covering the brouhaha. He told Eleanor Boudreau the county schools want to be permanently severed from the city schools because they see themselves as culturally different.
