Evanoff: Memphis Restaurants Still Face Uncertain Future

As the pandemic continues to shape the way Memphis conducts business, Commercial Appeal columnist Ted Evanoff has been looking ahead.

One industry facing potential hardships for months to come is the hospitality industry, and especially restaurants. In a recent column, he explored the continued effects of limited seating capacity and substantially reduced profits.

Without a vaccine or another federal stimulus in the near future, many Memphis restaurants face the prospect of closing. And that, he says, puts one of the city's great cultural institutions at risk: its food.

Reporting from the gates of Graceland to the balcony of the Lorraine Motel, Christopher has covered Memphis news, arts, culture and politics for more than 20 years in print and on the radio. He is currently WKNO's News Director and Senior Producer at the University of Memphis' Institute for Public Service Reporting.
