Bartlett Post Office Designated Drop-off for Last-Minute Absentee Ballots

Katie Riordan

A  total of 29,217 absentee ballots were requested in Shelby County ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. About three-quarters have already been returned.

The rest are due, by mail, by the close of polls on Election Day.

On Wednesday, the Shelby County Election Commission announced the Bartlett Post Office on Elmore Park Road as the place where absentee ballots may be dropped off in person until 3 p.m. on Election Day to ensure direct delivery to the commission.

Each of the state’s 95 counties have a post office that will make Election Day deliveries.

Voters can track their ballots on the website www.govotetn.com. The site has a one-day lag time.

Shelby County election officials previously said they were preparing to process up to 100,000 mail-in ballots because of the expansion of absentee voting this year due to the COVID pandemic.
