BTH: Marquita Bradshaw, U.S. Senate Nominee for TN

Marquita Bradshaw, a Democrat from Memphis, was the surprise victor in the primary race for the open U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee. To beat Republican opponent Bill Hagerty in the general election, she plans to focus on the issues she thinks are some of the most important to Tennessee voters: poverty, systemic racism and basic healthcare for all.

Bradshaw joins this week’s WKNO-TV Behind the Headlines with host Eric Barnes and Daily Memphian reporter Bill Dries.

A longtime environmental activist, Bradshaw also talks about the possibility of the City of Memphis' ending its 80-year relationship with the Tennessee Valley Authority, as well as COVID-19 policy and federal pandemic aid money.
