Medical supplies and resources are a growing concern for officials as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread. Shelby County Health Department Director Alisa Haushalter says that unlike other areas, Shelby County has enough testing kits, but lacks the staff and personal protective gear to keep up with the number of projected patients.
Haushalter joins Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris for this week’s WKNO-TV Behind the Headlines with host Eric Barnes and Daily Memphian reporter Bill Dries.
Harris considers some of the social and economic impacts the virus could have. He expects that some small businesses will not be able to recover. In addition, Harris talks about the effect the virus is having on Memphis in May and cash bail reform.
