Summertime means stocking up on sunscreen and bug spray. Add hand sanitizer to that list. Here are some tips for a safe summer while dealing with a pandemic.
Activities involving wheels are popular right now. Head trauma is the most common injury in accidents that involve bikes, skates, skateboards, and scooters. Wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of injury.
Swimming is a popular activity, but don’t be surprised if you’re required to get a temperature check before splashing around. You might even need a reservation before going to your local pool. Stay home if you don’t feel well. Make sure to stay 6 feet away from people who do not live with you - both inside and outside of the pool. Wear a mask when not in the water.
Thinking of hosting an outdoor gathering? Check the guidelines of your local health department regarding COVID-19. If allowed to gather, make sure your guests understand your safety rules before they visit. Be clear about staying home if they feel sick, make sure they stay 6 feet apart, and encourage them to wear masks. If serving food, the person serving your guests needs to wear a mask and gloves. Hand sanitizer, disposable plates, silverware, and napkins are also highly recommended by the CDC.
