Mental Health First Aid at Church Health

Church Health

Did you know that you are more likely to encounter someone experiencing an emotional or

mental crisis than someone having a heart attack?

The good news is that you – and your faith

community – can help them.

Church Health is called to offer hope and healing to those suffering from mental health issues, and with your help, we know we can begin to change the negative stigma surrounding mental illness. Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.  Church Health provides Mental Health First Aid for free to the community at Crosstown Concourse, and we also partner with faith communities who are interested in hosting us at their campus. By hosting a Mental Health First Aid training, you provide people with the skills to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.

To register for an upcoming Mental Health First Aid training at Church Health, go to ChurchHealth.org and click on “Calendar.” Email MHFA@churchhealth.org if you’d like to schedule an onsite training at your facility.
