As public pressure builds for people to stay at home to stem the spread of the coronavirus, some are taking extreme precautions. Political analyst Otis Sanford tells us that people over 60 should certainly have second thoughts about meeting with even close friends.
That strong messaging -- from Memphis city government, at least -- has been pretty clear, as it shut down businesses and cost thousands of local jobs in the name of public safety. A much weaker message has come from the state governement, Sanford argues.
One area of concern, Sanford argues, has been the refusal so far to close down church services. It's time, he feels, that congregations make the smart choice and protect the lives of devoted, elderly churchgoers.
