A year ago, I wore a tie everyday.
A year ago, I was just learning how to use Skype. I didn’t know about Zoom.
A year ago, I told Manoj Jain that it would be nearly impossible to get Memphians to willingly wear a mask.
A year ago, I took my last vacation.
And a year ago, my first friend died of COVID.
A lot can happen in a year, even when you believe the days are just slipping away. What I believe we all must learn is that life never stays the same. In order for our lives to get better, it requires work, heart, passion, planning and sometimes the willingness to just sit and listen to what is being said to us not by us.
I believe that the pandemic will soon be behind us. And when it is, what can we say we learned during this year and more? Now is the time to take inventory from this experience. Write it down and be ready to move forward with what we have learned that will make us better human beings.
