Kacky Walton spoke with artist Krista Carlsen, whose abstract landscapes are featured at T. Clifton Gallery in the Broad Avenue Arts District through the end of October.

Krista lives in central Illinois and is showing at the gallery for the first time. She incorporates textures, colors, and waxes to create unique pieces that she hopes will "bring joy and peace into each home.”

I owe my radio career to the Ford Motor Company. My daddy had a Ford dealership in our hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and he thought it would be cute if his 7-year old daughter did his radio commercials. The pay wasn't great, just a pack of Wrigley's gum, but I was hooked on radio from then on.
