Nathan Dumser discusses his new role with the Memphis Symphony Chorus

After the retirement in 2024 of long-time director Dr. Laurence Edwards, the Memphis Symphony Chorus (MSC) has a new Director, Nathan Dumser.

Darel Snodgrass spoke with Nate about his ambitions for the MSO Chorus, his history with Dr. Edwards, the upcoming season with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra (MSO), and Music Director Robert Moody, and his own background, including his current job with St. George's Independent School.

Darel Snodgrass

I began piano lessons at age 6, trumpet at age 9, and began teaching myself the guitar at 10. My electronics knowledge comes from my father, who had the RCA television and stereo shop in my hometown of Pocahontas, Arkansas for nearly 20 years. My dad is still fixing televisions at age 79.
