For Commercial Appeal sports reporter Jason Munz, there's a David vs. Goliath comparison to be made in the University of Memphis standing up to the NCAA's rules and regulations regarding donations from boosters. But that clout also comes with having a team that will likely win games even with its top player sidelined for much of the season. Munz tells us that the controversy also makes for good fan fodder -- a great conspiracy theory for a program that the haters like to hate.
