MLGW is partnering with Nokia to build the first full-scale, stand-alone 5G network by a municipal utility in the U.S. The project is part of a broader effort to modernize Memphis’ electric grid and improve service reliability.

MLGW is asking customers to reduce electricity use today as high temperatures strain the TVA power grid. No outages are expected, but small changes can help prevent disruptions.

Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) has partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to introduce "Smart Thermostat Rewards," a new initiative aimed at helping residential customers conserve energy and reduce their power bills during peak electricity demand.

Since yesterday's storm, MLGW crews have restored power to 15,877 customers and are continuing their efforts to restore service to the remaining affected households.
